International Tennis School is an independent service-oriented advisory group that lends technical assistance and information to organizations, educational institutions, individuals, and the tennis industry. ITS through a worldwide network of tennis schools and organizations aim to help develop facilities and educate young people within their respective communities through tennis and sports development.
ITS recognizes that sports play an important role at the individual, community, national and global levels. For the individual, sport promotes personal abilities, general health and self-knowledge. On the national level, sport and physical education contribute to economic and social growth. Sports improve public health and bring communities together.
On the global level, sports can have a long-lasting positive impact on development, health, peace and the environment. ITS facilitates cross-sector 'partnerships' between private and public sectors, profit and non-profit organizations, while creating innovative programs in instruction, research, and service.
Foremost in our mission is to assist in raising funds and management of projects of construction and upgrade of sports and physical education facilities; for sports programs and events; for individuals with special emphasis on disadvantaged youth in sports, education, arts and other related human development programs.
Access to and participation in sports provide an opportunity to experience social and moral inclusion for communities otherwise marginalized by social, cultural or religious barriers due to gender, disability or other discriminations. Through sports, individuals can experience equality, freedom and a dignifying means for empowerment.
ITS is committed to promoting a strong base in grassroots involvement in tennis and sports while providing opportunities for developing responsible programs on- and off- the playing field.
The practice of sport is vital to the holistic development of young people, fostering their physical and emotional health and building valuable social connections. It offers opportunities for play and self-expression, beneficial especially for those young people with few other opportunities in their lives.
