Mladenovic combined with Alize Cornet to beat Belinda Bencic and Timea Bacsinszky 75 64 in the live fifth rubber to give Les Bleus a 3-2 victory – and hopes of competing in the coveted World Group next year. Bouchard Leads Canada to 3-1 Win vs Serbia
fedcup.com: February 9 2014 Montreal, Canada - Eugenie Bouchard hopes that she is leading Canadian tennis into a golden era in Fed Cup by BNP Paribas competition. She certainly did her part this weekend. Bouchard secured Canada's World Group II first round tie against Serbia with a 60 63 win against Vesna Dolonc on Sunday. The Australian Open semi-finalist continued her excellent start to 2014 with her second straight sets win of the weekend; the result means that Canada advance to a World Group play-off tie in April. Heavily favoured going into the matchup against Dolonc, Bouchard gave Canada an insurmountable 3-0 lead in the tie when she closed out the Serbian No. 1 in just 58 minutes. Tie Details

Poles Beat Swedes in Deciding Doubles Thriller
fedcup.com: February 9 2014 Boras, Sweden - Poland dominated the fifth rubber to seal a 3-2 victory and passage into the World Group play-offs in April for the first time in 21 years. World No.4 Agnieszka Radwanska led her team picking up two singles and a doubles victory to help earn all three points. Six sets played for the 24-year-old and six sets won.
