wtatennis.com: October 20, 2013 Moscow - Simona Halep beat Sam Stosur to win the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, her fifth WTA title of an absolute breakthrough year. Only Serena Williams has won more WTA titles than the Romanian this year. After building a 3-1 lead with a point for 4-1, Halep watched on as Stosur battled her way back into the first set, getting back on serve and pushing it to a tie-break. The event was upgraded to Premier status in 1993 and the surface changed to outdoor hardcourts in 2008, when the tournament moved to its present-day venue of the Ariake Tennis Forest Park - which features the 10,000-seat Ariake Coliseum. wtatennis.com: September 21, 2013 Guangzhou, China - Zhang Shuai squeaked out a tight first set then went on total cruise control in the second set to beat Vania King and win her first WTA title at the Guangzhou Open on Saturday. Zhang, a wildcard into the draw, didn't drop a set all week and continued that pattern against King, a qualifier, winning an air-tight 65-minute first set on a tie-break then rolling through a 32-minute second set.
