February 2, 2014 ITS Staff - In Asia/Oceania Zone Group I action, China, defeated New Zealand 3-1 with Wu Di getting the hosts off to a great start coming out on top against Michael Venus in five sets, 36 76(4) 62 16 63.
Zhang Ze came back from a set down to beat Jose Statham, 67(5) 63 64 64. In the doubles rubber, Marcus Daniell and Michael Venus put New Zealand on the scoreboard beating Chinese team of Gong Mao-Xin and Li Zhe, China 6-3, 7-6 (3), 7-5.
On Sunday, Wu Di clinched the tie for China with a 6-7 (5), 6-7 (1), 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 win over Jose Statham. China secured a place in the second round against Uzbekistan.

February 2, 2014 ITS Staff Indore, India - Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni posted straight-set victories as India completed a 5-0 rout of Chinese Taipei in the first round. Myneni was inserted into the singles rubber as the captain decided to play him in place of Somdev Devvarman, who won a marathon singles against Ti Chen on Friday.
The No.313 ranked Myneni, took just 48 minutes to beat his higher-ranked Tsung Hua Yang 6-1 6-4 in the dead fourth rubber. Playing in place of Ti Chen, Hsien-Yin Peng could not match Yuki Bhambri’s top form falling 7-5 6-0 in the second reverse singles lasting 55 minutes. Details
