Djokovic Beats Querrey, Sends Serbia to Semi-finals

Daviscup.com: April 7, 2013 Boise, Idaho - A run of nine consecutive games by Novak Djokovic saw him close out Sam Querrey and in doing so secured Serbia a place in the semifinals of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group. In two hours 35 minutes the world No.1 finished things in blistering fashion and scored a 7-5 6-7 6-1 6-0 victory, giving Serbia an unassailable 3-1 lead over the USA. The final rubber was not played. It was a dramatic start to the match as Djokovic dropped to the court on his knees in the third game of the match. Querrey was serving and at 30-40 when Djokovic lifted off the ground to play a forehand, when he came back down his right ankle turned in an angle it was not meant to. The replays on television were very much cringe and “agony” viewing.

Bozoljac, Zimonjic Upset Bryans in 15-13 in 5th
April 6, 2013 ITS Staff, Boise - In a four-hour 23-minute thriller, Serbia’s Ilija Bozoljac and Nenad Zimonjic provided a magnificent doubles performance holding off favorites World No.1 doubles American pair Mike and Bob Bryan for a masterful 6-7 6-7 7-5 6-4 15-13 victory Saturday giving the visitors a 2-1 lead against the United States in the Davis Cup World Group Quarterfinal tie in Boise, Idaho. That sets up a showdown between World No.1 Novak Djokovic and American Sam Querrey for Sunday’s fourth rubber before a possible deciding fifth rubber between John Isner and Viktor Troicki of Serbia.
