Daviscup.com: April 7, 2013 Buenos Aires - Carlos Berlocq was Argentina’s hero with a four-set victory over Gilles Simon to hand his country victory over France in their Davis Cup by BNP Paribas quarterfinal at Parque Roca on Sunday. The 30-year-old, who has spent most of his career on the Challenger circuit and only made his Davis Cup debut last year, fed on the passionate support of the home crowd for his unlikely 64 57 64 64 win over the world No. 13. Earlier, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga kept France in the tie with a 63 63 60 mauling of Juan Monaco after Argentina’s upset victory in Saturday’s doubles had handed them an unexpected 2-1 lead.

Raonic Clinches Historic Win for Canada's 1st Semis World Group Appearance

Daviscup.com April 7, 2013 Vancouver -  Canada’s biggest weapon has delivered the country’s biggest Davis Cup by BNP Paripas victory. Milos Raonic used his booming serve to defeat Andreas Seppi 6-4 6-4 3-6 7-5 giving Canada a 3-1 win over Italy and a spot in the Davis Cup semifinals for the first time ever. With a boisterous home crowd behind him, Raonic came out firing early, held serve and managed to get the breaks he needed to take the first two sets. But, as he did in Friday’s singles against Vasek Pospisil when he fell behind 2-0, Seppi settled down in the third set and was able to break Raonic for the first time - and as it turned out only time - in the match. Undeterred Raonic continued to blast away and eventually broke Seppi to close out the match. Raonic finished the match with 35 aces. It’s the seventh straight Davis Cup singles victory for the world No. 16 who also defeated Fabio Fognini on Friday.
